The Emirates Racing Authority (ERA) has appointed John Zucal to the position of Chief Steward.
Mr Zucal has a wealth of knowledge of the racing industry having spent 37 years as a steward. He was the Chairman of Stewards at Racing & Wagering Western Australia from 2003-2011. He has also worked as a Chief Steward in Macau and Chairman of Stewards in Greece and was recently the Racing Integrity Officer for Harness Racing New South Wales.
Mr Zucal will be assisted in his role by new Steward, Sam Shinsky. Mr Shinsky is a former Stipendary Steward with Racing Victoria, in Australia. He previously spent two years working as a seasonal steward at the ERA for the 2009/10 and the 2010/11 seasons.
