2.20pm £50,000 Listed Ladbrokes Lady Wulfruna Stakes - Fast-Track Qualifier, 7f 32y Polytrack
Chookie Royale, trained by Keith Dalgleish, was the decisive winner of the 12th Fast-Track Qualifier of the All-Weather Championships, winning the 10-runner £50,000 Listed Ladbrokes Lady Wulfruna Stakes by three and a quarter lengths under Tom Eaves.
Always prominent in the seven-furlong race, Chookie Royale, the 4/1 favourite, led over two furlongs out and was never challenged after going clear in the straight to beat Hasopop (9/2) in 1m 27.48s.
The six-year-old, tried over 10 furlongs last time, secured a guaranteed free place in the £150,000 ladbrokes.co.uk Mile Stakes on All-Weather Championships Finals Day, Good Friday, April 18, 2014 at Lingfield Park and is set to line up in that race.
Eaves commented: "We didn't think that he stayed last time but, at the same time, we thought that we were coming back to the minimum distance for him today.
"That's why I wanted to commit him a long way out and he was idling a little bit in the last furlong. He's progressing well.
"At the end of the day, it is a Listed race and I didn't think that it would be a walk in the park but I did expect him to win.
"I think we are probably heading to Good Friday. It's up to Keith and the owners - they will put him in the right place.
"I couldn't see why he wouldn't run as well on turf. He's pretty versatile here and at Lingfield Park and I think that he has improved."
Dalgleish said: "I am delighted with Chookie Royale - it was a decisive win.
"Last time, the race did not pan out for him and he probably didn't stay a mile and a quarter.
"His record at Wolverhampton is fantastic and it is just a shame the final isn't there. He is more than adequate at a mile.
"He got a good position today and Tom kicked early to try and nick the race, knowing that Chookie Royale would definitely stay.
"That worked out and the £150,000 mile final on Good Friday is the plan now. We will ride him the same way, prominent, and try and keep it simple. He seems to settle better that way.
"He has thrived on the All-Weather and improved in the last six months."

2.55pm £50,000 Ladbrokes Lincoln Trial Handicap, 1m 141y, Polytrack
David Simcock sent three contenders to Wolverhampton for the £50,000 Ladbrokes Lincoln Trial Handicap and it was five-year-old Whispering Warrior (11/2), with Jim Crowley up, who did the best of them, coming with a good burst in the closing stages to beat the front-running Tellovoi (20/1) by a half-length in 1m 48.88s, with the same distance back to the third Party Royal (33/1).
The Newmarket trainer's other runners were Noble Citizen (20/1 and sixth) and Postscript (20/1 and eighth).
Crowley explained afterwards: "I had a nice trip around. This is the first time he has run here and he needed every yard of the trip.
"I felt he was nicely on top at the finish. David (Simcock) was quite hopeful as last week blew away the cobwebs.
"Whispering Warrior is nice progressive horse and hopefully it will be onwards and upwards during the summer. He seems quite versatile as regards ground."
