There is now little over a
month to go until the Betfred Cheltenham Gold Cup on the final day of The
Festival, Friday, March 15, and the countdown intensified yesterday with the
victories of leading contenders Silviniaco Conti and Sir Des Champs
respectively in the Denman Chase at Newbury and the Hennessy Gold Cup at
Leopardstown.
Not surprisingly, tickets
and badges for Gold Cup Day are proving popular and the Best Mate Enclosure is
now sold out completely for March 15.
There is still some
availability for the Tattersalls and Club Enclosures on Gold Cup Day, but these
are going fast.
Cheltenham Racecourse
reminds racegoers that capacity for Gold Cup Day in 2013 has been reduced by up
to 5,000 so it is imperative to book as soon as possible to avoid
disappointment.
Tickets and badges are
also available for the first three days of The Festival that starts at
Cheltenham Racecourse on Tuesday, March 12, Champion Day, which has just been
voted the best day's racing in Britain during the whole year by readers of the
Racing Post newspaper.
