Dual Jebel Ali Stakes And Mile Hero Treble Jig To Go Through Sales Ring Mon, 18/02/

Record-breaking Thoroughbred, Treble Jig heads a list of exciting horses to go under the hammer at the annual Emirates Racing Authority (ERA) Horses In Training Sale next month.
Six-year-old Treble Jig, who is unbeaten in five starts at Jebel Ali Racecourse and rated 113 on dirt, is one of 123 lots that will be available for purchase to the highest bidder on Wednesday March 6.
Treble Jig, who will only go if bidding exceeds his reserve price, became the only horse do the Jebel Ali Stakes and Mile double in 2012 before going on to repeat the same feat this season. Currently owned by Fathi Esead Mohd Egziama and trained by Musabah Al Muhairi, Group 3 winner, Treble Jig has earned Dh757,500 in prize money to date and recently had a run at Meydan in the Dubai World Cup Carnival.
Also due to go through the sales ring is Burano, an international runner from the British yard of trainer, Brian Meehan. Burano, winner of the Dubai World Cup Carnival’s Meydan Classic in 2012 was runner-up in the Meydan Hotels Handicap last month.
Other stand-out horses include four-time winner, Garbah, and eight-time UAE winner, Rochdale, from the stable of Champion Trainer, Ali Rashid Al Raihe. In addition to Treble Jig, Al Muhairi has also consigned 2011 Godolphin Mile fifth and Burj Nahar runner-up, Zafeen Speed who has been off the track since his Dubai World Cup day outing.
Youm Mutamiez, who has already won twice this season at Jebel Ali, also makes the trip from Al Muhairi’s Oasis 1 Stables.
Gerard Bush, Chief Steward at ERA said: “Treble Jig obviously catches the eye and there are also a number of other horses in the sale who have already won this season and you would think that there are quite a few that have the potential to perform well in the future.
“Last year there were a total of 106 horses sold which carried a total value of Dh3,511m with the sale of Happy Today for Dh310,000 representing the top lot and Mantoba, a winner at Abu Dhabi for trainer, Doug Watson this season attracting Dh100,000.”
