CHELTENHAM CONFIDENT OF RACING TOMORROW - SATURDAY 26th JANUARY 2013

Cheltenham is fit for racing and passed an inspection at 8am this morning ahead of tomorrow's Festival Trials Day (Saturday, January 26) at the home of Jump racing.

The racecourse remains confident of racing going ahead tomorrow but, in the interest of taking all possible scenarios into account, is holding a precautionary inspection at 7am tomorrow morning.

new cheltenham logoWeather forecasts suggest there is likely to be some snow followed by rain (7/8 millimetres) this afternoon when the frost covers, which have been down since January 15, are lifted.

It will remain cold today (1C), with temperatures due to rise tomorrow to 4/5C.

Racing would only be under threat tomorrow if the forecasts prove to be wide of the mark.

The going is currently soft.

Festival Trials Day is the final day's racing at Cheltenham before The Festival, which this year runs from Tuesday, March 12 through to Friday, March 15.
