An exciting day out for the whole
family that strengthens the community spirit, raises awareness about
environmental issues and encourages the personal development of children.
Al Tamimi Stables, a public recreational and educational facility located only a
40-minute drive from Dubai, will mark the UAE National Day on 2 December with
great fanfare from 9am to 6pm. The event will focus on the rich heritage and
culture of the UAE and will include an array of exciting activities centered
around Al Tamimi Stables’ Heroes Programme and horse riding, the preferred
sport of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Prime Minister and Vice President of the UAE and
Ruler of Dubai.
The 30-acres of lush farmland will bring the
true essence of the UAE to Sharjah with flags displayed throughout the facility,
a flag hoisting ceremony and singing of the National Anthem at the beginning of
the day. Visitors can enjoy belly dancing performances and also learn a step or
two, ladies can get beautiful henna tattoos on their hands while children can
participate in flag making workshops.
Visitors will have the opportunity to not
only view the magnificent horses at Al Tamimi Stables but also to pet them. In
addition, the little ones will be encouraged to ride ponies and learn about equestrian
care such as feeding and grooming horses.
Families can spot over 500 domestic and exotic
animals with nature trails, participate in games or workshops such as
eco-friendly arts and crafts, dance, drama and cooking. Tickets
for this exciting event are only AED 60 for adults and AED 35 for kids with
family passes available for two adults and three kids at AED 180. Entry is free
for kids under 3 years.
Visitors can sit back and relax with
delicious refreshments served at the in-house
café. They will also learn more about the facilities at Al Tamimi Stables such
as the Homework Club, Arabic and French language classes, Hip Hop, Belly
Dancing, Boot Camps, and several others. Information will also be provided about
the corporate packages, school camps and concept of Animal Assisted Therapy by
SENSE.
The activities will focus largely on the
Heroes Programme that fuses the school curriculum with active, outdoor and
experimental learning. The programme educates children about the environment,
sustainable development and care for all living things. As part of the Heroes
programme, children receive the titles of Green Hero, Creativity Hero, Sports
Hero, Horse Hero and Animal Care Hero, depending on the activity. The
initiative enhances communication skills, critical thinking and teamwork, all
vital for the overall development of every child. Additionally, participants
will be rewarded with stamps and certificates.
“We launched the new season at Al Tamimi Stables in September
with a fantastic Family Fun Day with over 700 attendees and later kicked off
the festivities with Halloween and Guy Fawkes Day celebrations. The UAE
National Day falls on a long weekend this year so it seemed very fitting to
host another big day to resonate the culture and beliefs of the UAE,” commented
Brian Galligan, General Manager, Al Tamimi Stables.
Al Tamimi Stables is open Saturday to Thursday from 9am to
6pm. For more information, class schedules or to make a group booking, call 06 743 1122.
