Mr Burbridge will bid for a six-timer
in the £19,000 32Red Conditions Stakes (2.30pm, 17 entries) over two miles at
Lingfield Park on Wednesday, January 22, the eighth Fast-Track Qualifier for
the new All-Weather Championships Finals Day on Good Friday.
The lightly-raced
six-year-old has been a revelation since starting his winning sequence over an
extended two miles at Wolverhampton on November 1, improving 31 pounds in the
handicap to a mark of 87.
Neil Mulholland's charge
was last seen scoring decisively in a mile and a half handicap at Southwell on
January 7.
Mulholland reported:
"Mr Burbidge is likely to run at Lingfield on Wednesday. He has come out
of his win at Southwell very well and schooled over hurdles yesterday, so he is
fresh and well.
"I thought it was a
very good performance there because he is not bred to be a mile and a half
horse, but we thought we would take a chance and it came off. He wasn't even
blowing after the race because he was just getting going.
"He is very genuine
and I think confidence has been the key to him. He has not stopped improving
over the last couple of months and is just growing up.
"The step back up in
trip should suit him at Lingfield and the more he does, the better he is. We
will have a look at Finals Day with him because he is going the right way and
until he tells us where his level is, he is entitled to have a crack at
something like that."
The 17 entries for the
32Red Conditions Stakes also include recent course and distance winner Theology
(Steve Gollings), Kempton Park scorer Arch Villain (Amanda Perrett) and
Group Three Ormonde Stakes third Communicator (Andrew Balding).
Grendisar (Marco Botti) has also
been entered after staying on well over a mile and a half last time, while
improving four-year-old Duchess Of Gazeley (Dean Ivory) could return
after a short break.
