ROBINS FARM SPONSORS THE STEWARDS' CUP AT GOODWOOD

Robins Farm, the training establishment owned by Sheikh Fahad Al Thani and the base for first season trainer Olly Stevens, will sponsor this year's Stewards' Cup at Glorious Goodwood on Saturday, August 3.

goodwoodThe famous handicap, run over six furlongs and one of the most competitive races during the five days of Glorious Goodwood, will be titled the Robins Farm Racing Stewards' Cup.

Olly Stevens commented: "To have Robins Farm associated with such an iconic and popular race as the Stewards' Cup is very exciting for us. We are extremely grateful to Sheikh Fahad for providing us with this opportunity to promote Robins Farm.

"Through QIPCO Holding's on-going sponsorship of the Sussex Stakes, Sheikh Fahad and his brothers have established an excellent relationship with Goodwood and he identified the chance to sponsor the Stewards' Cup as a way to raise the profile of Robins Farm and what we have to offer all owners.

"The season has gone really well so far and it was a great thrill to reward Sheikh Fahad's support by training a Royal Ascot winner. He takes great pleasure in seeing any horse trained at Robins Farm succeed, whether they are owned by him, his brothers or one of our other clients or partnerships."

Adam Waterworth, Managing Director of Goodwood Racecourse, commented: "I am really pleased that Robins Farm is sponsoring the Stewards' Cup this year. Robins Farm is one of our local training yards so it is great to have them involved with Glorious Goodwood, especially in such a high-profile race as the Stewards' Cup."

Also taking place on the Saturday of Glorious Goodwood is the race for those horses who did not make the cut for the Robins Farm Racing Stewards' Cup, which will be run as the Robins Farm Racing Stewards' Sprint.

Last year's Stewards' Cup winner Hawkeyethenoo is targeting an ambitious double, with an entry this Saturday at Ascot and then on to the £100,000 Robins Farm Racing Stewards' Cup a week later for trainer Jim Goldie.

Hawkeyethenoo, one of 121 entries going forward for the Robins Farm Racing Stewards' Cup, has been allotted 9st 8lb and would receive weight from the 2011 victor Hoof It(9st 12lb) as well as the Kevin Ryan-trained pair of York Glory, (9st 9lb) who captured the Wokingham Handicap at Royal Ascot, and recent Group Three runner-up Hamza (9st 9lb).
