CROWD UP ON DAY 2 OF ROYAL ASCOT & GOING UPDATE

The crowd for day two of Royal Ascot in 2013 came to 38,758.

This is an increase on the 38,652 who attended day two in 2012.

GOING UPDATE AFTER RACING

Chris Stickels, Clerk of the Course at Ascot, said after racing: "It was Good to Firm, Good in places at noon and I have left it the same at the moment.

"Clearly as the day went on, the ground would have dried. The indications are that there is a possibility of some thunderstorms tonight and a strong likelihood of some rain in the early hours of the morning and then showers and sunny spells tomorrow so we are not watering and will see what happens."
