day of Royal Ascot remains
GOOD
after a dry night.
Chris Stickels, Clerk of
the Course, said: "I am very pleased with the condition of the course. The
grass has been growing strongly in the last week.
"If conditions
remains dry, we could see some good to firm come into the going description
later today.
"We put on some water
last week on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday as it has been a pretty dry June -
we have had only nine millimetres of rain so far this month. We have missed the
thunderstorms.
"The ground seems to
very consistent across the straight course."
