GOING NEWS
The going at Royal Ascot
for the fourth day remains
GOOD TO
FIRM
following another dry
night and four millimetres of watering after racing yesterday.
Chris Stickels, Clerk of
the Course, said at 8.15am: "It hasn't rained here since last Saturday so
we put four millimetres of water on last night to provide a bit of moisture for
the soil. It had dried a lot over Wednesday and Thursday.
"Yesterday evening
was a great time to water. I don't imagine that we will have to water again
tonight.
"They are still
forecasting the possibility of the odd shower, it looks a bit overcast now but
there doesn't seem to be anything too much on the horizon.
"I think there is
maybe more chance of the odd shower tomorrow so we will have to see. There
haven't been particularly accurate forecasts this week."
Drizzle started to fall at
9am.
