Dubai, Monday October 29, 2012: Ever wondered what a racehorse eats, how they sleep or how they are conditioned for Dubai’s multi-million dollar races?
Get up close and personal with Meydan’s four-legged athletes on a behind-the-scenes stable tour. Have all your racing questions answered and get on the inside track at Meydan’s bustling stable yards ahead of the course’s first race meeting on Thursday, November 8.
Stable Tour guests will be treated to a five-star buffet breakfast at Meydan’s Farriers restaurant before heading out to the stables for an hour-long tour.
Tour groups will be picked up at 9am after breakfast and taken to the stables, where they will meet their tour guide and learn the histories of the horses stabled there.
Guests will be shown round the stables, tack room, feed room, farrier’s room and the equine swimming pool or treadmill where horses are conditioned away from the track.
The tour will then head back to the grandstand, where guests will view the Jockeys’ Locker Rooms, Horse Connections’ Lounge, Parade Ring and Saddling Enclosure areas, which are all used on race nights.
Meydan Stable Tours run every Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday, 8am to 11am from November 11, 2012 to March 20, 2013.
Tickets cost Dh250 for adults and Dh150 for children. For more information and booking please call +971 4 381 3405 or email:leisure@meydanhotels.com or stabletours@meydanhotels.com
