CERTIFY HEADS 11 CONTENDERS FOR SHADWELL FILLIES' MILE AT NEWMARKET

Godolphin aims for a third consecutive victory in the £163,500 Group One Shadwell Fillies' Mile (2.55pm) with Certify going for the highlight of the second day of the Cambridgeshire Festival, Shadwell Day, at Newmarket on Friday, September 28.

The Mahmood Al Zarooni-trained filly is one of the ante-post favourites for next year's QIPCO 1000 Guineas, back at Newmarket, following three impressive victories that included a cosy neck success in the Group Two May Hill Stakes over a mile at Doncaster on September 14.

She comfortably beat subsequent Group One scorer Sky Lantern in the Group Three  German-thoroughbred.com Sweet Solera Stakes over seven furlongs of Newmarket's July Course on August 11 and won decisively on debut in a six-furlong maiden at Newmarket's Piper-Heidsieck July Festival.

Mahmood Al Zarooni revealed: "Certify did a nice, easy piece of work this morning and we are hopefully aiming her towards Newmarket.

"We have the option of staying close to home or going to France for the Prix Marcel Boussac the following week.

Shadwell"The decision is based mainly on how she came out of her run at Doncaster and she is in good form at the moment.

"Certify showed that she is a good filly in the May Hill Stakes because she kicked off a slow pace.

"It's usually not very easy to win from behind if there is no pace and she still showed a little been of greenness.

"She is learning with her racing and I hope that she will be better on her next outing. She is improving all of the time and seems to go on any ground."

Ollie Olga has yet to taste defeat in three starts for Mick Channon and the daughter of Stormy Atlantic has also beaten Sky Lantern, finishing half a length in front of that filly in the seven-furlong Group Three Prestige Stakes at Goodwood in August.

Roz, representing Harry Dunlop, and the Sir Mark Prescott-trained Savanna La Mar came home first and second respectively in a seven-furlong Listed contest at Sandown Park in July, while Winsili, from the stable of John Gosden, has been supplemented for £15,000 after taking second to Godolphin's Lovely Pass in a mile Ascot conditions race on September 8.

Agent Allison was runner-up in the six-furlong Group Three Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot for Peter Chapple-Hyam and the Aidan O'Brien-trained Magical Dream also boasts good form in Pattern company, having finished fourth in the Group One Moyglare Stud Stakes, won by Sky Lantern, on September 9 at the Curragh.

French Listed scorer Discernable, from the stable of Mark Johnston, Prestige Stakes thirdAmazonas, representing Ed Dunlop, and the Clive Brittain-trained pair of Masarah andSinaadi complete the 11 going forward for the Shadwell Fillies' Mile.

An eight-race card on day two of the Cambridgeshire Festival, Friday, September 28, Shadwell Day, also features the £100,000 Nayef Joel Stakes (2.20pm) and the 19 confirmations for the mile contest include Group One St James's Palace Stakes victor Most Improved and Group Two Summer Mile scorer Fanunalter. The Nayef Joel Stakes is part of the QIPCO British Champions Series.

Group One Moyglare Stud Stakes runner-up Scintillula could take her chance in the £40,000 Group Three Sakhee Oh So Sharp Stakes (1.15pm) and the 20 juvenile fillies entered in the seven-furlong contest also includes recent Newbury conditions race scorerPenny Rose and seven-length maiden winner Power Of Light.

Group Two Windsor Forest Stakes heroine Joviality heads 23 fillies and mares entered in the mile £33,000 Listed Mawatheeq Rosemary Stakes (1.45pm), while progressive handicapper Sir Graham Wade is among 22 entries for the £33,000 Listed Aqlaam Godolphin Stakes (4.00pm) over a mile and a half.
