FINAL RACE BEFORE QIPCO BRITISH CHAMPIONS DAY:THE NAYEF JOEL STAKES, NEWMARKET, TOMORROW (28 SEPTEMBER) - MILE

* Most Improved, winner of the fourth race in the QIPCO British Champions Series Mile category, the St James's Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot, will seek his second Series victory in tomorrow's Nayef Joel Stakes, the sixth leg in the Mile division which has been dominated by Frankel thus far. Most Improved has to carry a four pound penalty for that Group 1 victory.

* Eleven horses have been declared for the contest run over the same course and distance as the QIPCO 2000 and 1000 Guineas. Side Glance, third behind Frankel and Excelebration in the third Mile race, the Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot, heads the opposition to Most Improved. He is owned by Qatar Bloodstock, a subsidiary of the Series sponsor, QIPCO Holding.

* William Buick, who lies just 15 points behind Joseph O'Brien in the Jockey of the Series table, rides Joviality for John Gosden, who himself trails Aidan O'Brien by 50 points in the Trainer of the Series table. A win for Buick, worth 20 points, would take him to the top of the jockeys' elite championship. The O'Briens are not represented in this race.

* Six of the 11 runners are also entered for the final Mile race in the Series, the £1m Queen Elizabeth II Stakes on QIPCO British Champions Day at Ascot on Saturday 20 October -FanunalterMost ImprovedSide GlanceSovereign DebtStipulate and Trumpet Major.

The Nayef Joel Stakes is the 30th race overall in the QIPCO British Champions Series and the sixth in the Mile division:
