Cheltenham Racecourse development - update @CheltenhamRaces

Following receipt of planning permission in July, the second phase of the works on the old A and R boxes at the racecourse commences this week. Earlier this summer, work was carried out to remove asbestos from these boxes as well as to remove the old numbers board by the unsaddling enclosure.

Between now and the start of the new season, the boxes above the Tote Terrace will be renovated to render them usable again by the first meeting on October 18, 2013. The remaining boxes will be removed prior to the start of racing and will be replaced with high-quality temporary facilities.

Tenders for the new Grandstand development will be sought later this year, with the works anticipated to start immediately following the 2014 Festival.
