Buckley said: "I have changed the going description to Good, Good to Soft in a few places after drying conditions yesterday and overnight.

"The course has stood up well to the first two days of racing at Glorious Goodwood.

"Tomorrow is forecast to be dry as well, with temperatures reaching between 20 and 22 degrees Celsius.

"There is a possibility of a shower on Saturday morning but otherwise it should be dry to the end of Glorious Goodwood."

The GoingStick reading at 9.30am came to 7.5.

The GoingStick reading at 9am yesterday was 7.2, while at 12.30pm on Tuesday it was 6.8. Previous readings were 7.6 at 10am on Tuesday, 7.9 at 3pm on Monday, 8.0 on Sunday and 8.7 on Saturday.

The temporary rail on the far side of the course, dolling out the course by five yards from the three and a half furlong point to the winning post, was taken down last night. There is now fresh ground on the inside.
