Doncaster Racecourse,
home of the Ladbrokes St Leger Festival, today announces a new one-year
sponsorship deal with The Crown Hotel. The local company, which is based in
nearby Bawtry, will lend its name to the Listed feature race on Wednesday,
September 11, which will now be entitled The Crown Hotel Bawtry Scarbrough
Stakes.
As part of this
partnership, the opening day of the Festival will now be known as The Crown
Hotel Bawtry Opening Day.
This supports The
Crown's already strong year-round sponsorship deals with Doncaster Racecourse,
whilst complementing its support of race five on Thursday of the St Leger
Festival, The Crownhotel-Bawtry.com E.B.F Maiden Stakes.
Jo Mapletoft, Group
Sponsorship Manager for Arena Racing Company said: "We're hugely excited
to be extending our already successful partnership with the Crown Hotel during
the prestigious Ladbrokes St Leger Festival. The Crown is now one of the main
partners of our showpiece race week, with the company taking ownership of the
opening day and its feature race."
Craig Dowie, Director of
The Crown Hotel, said: "We're proud of our close links with Doncaster
Racecourse and have always been highly keen on strengthening our association
with the prestigious, flagship horseracing festival. We're very much looking
forward to positioning our name to the opening day."
The Ladbrokes St Leger
Festival runs from Wednesday, September 11 to Saturday, September 14, 2013,
when the Ladbrokes St Leger - the final Classic of the season - is the
showpiece event; complemented by many quality feature races.
