- * Goodwood's leading trainer Richard
Hannon has moved on to 249 winners at the track (including 69 at Glorious
Goodwood) after sending out five winners so far this week. He had a rare
blank day yesterday but has nine runners spread across today's seven-race card
with several strong chances, headed by Montiridge in the Group Three
Bonhams Thoroughbred Stakes (2.30pm).
- * Middleham handler Mark Johnston, who has
trained 59 winners at Glorious Goodwood, is chasing a fourth Betfred Mile
(3.05pm) in five years and a sixth in all. He saddles Galician, Windhoek
and Es Que Love.
- * Brendan Bracken will bid to follow up
his impressive Topaz Mile victory at the Galway Festival on Tuesday when
he lines up in today's feature, the £130,000 Betfred Mile. If successful,
the four-year-old will be the first horse to complete the double, the
first Irish-trained winner of the race and will give his handler Ger Lyons
a first Goodwood success.
- * Jockey Kieren Fallon goes in pursuit of
his 40th Glorious Goodwood winner. The former champion has five rides
today - Whipper's Boy (2.30pm), Set The Trend (3.05pm), Elusivity
(3.40pm), Shepherd Gate (4.15pm) and Ladyship (4.50pm).
