GOODWOOD GOING CHANGE @Goodwood_Races

The going is now

Good, Good to Firm in places,

from Good yesterday.

Clerk of the course Seamus Buckley reported a dry night and one millimetre of rain this morning from a thunderstorm around 7am.

It is forecast to be dry for the rest of the day, with conditions clearing from 11am. Temperatures could reach 25 degrees Celsius today and there is a similar forecast for tomorrow, with dry and hot weather.

goodwoodBuckley said: "I have changed the going description to Good, Good to Firm in a few places. We had drying conditions yesterday and overnight.

"There was a heavy shower from a thunderstorm this morning, amounting to one millimetre of rain, but it is forecast to be dry from now on and tomorrow, with temperatures reaching between 24 and 25 degrees Celsius.

"The course has stood up well to the first three days of racing at Glorious Goodwood."

The GoingStick reading at 9.15am was 8.0.

The GoingStick reading at 9.30am yesterday came to 7.5, with other readings having been 7.2 at 9am on Wednesday, 6.8 at 12.30pm on Tuesday, 7.6 at 10am on Tuesday, 7.9 at 3pm on Monday, 8.0 on Sunday and 8.7 on Saturday.

The lower bend, which had been dolled out by five yards, has had the temporary rail removed and there is now fresh ground on the inside for two furlongs.
