Richard Hannon junior
reported QIPCO Sussex Stakes hero Toronado in fine form after his thrilling
defeat of old rival Dawn Approach in Wednesday's Group One Glorious Goodwood
showpiece.
"He has a little
nick, but it's nothing," he said. "He's fine this morning, perfectly
sound when he had a lead out and a pick of grass."
The Prix Jacques Le Marois
at Deauville later this month was mooted as the next outing for the son of High
Chaparral, but though it remains an option, it may no longer be the favoured
one.
"The Queen Elizabeth
II Stakes and then the Breeders' Cup Mile are the two," said Hannon.
"I would just love to see him run round two bends on fast ground. We could
give him a rest now, and then pick him up again for Ascot. He's an easier horse
to deal with than he used to be, hardier. But of course plans could all change.
