Silvestre de Sousa
received bans in consecutive Glorious Goodwood races after the stewards judged
him guilty of careless riding on both occasions.
In the opening Group Three
Coutts Glorious Stakes, the rider, on second Lost In The Moment, was found to
had interfered with fourth Montaser inside the final furlong. The stewards
found that de Sousa had shifted right when insufficiently clear. He received a
two-day ban - Friday and Saturday, August 16 and 17.
In the following Group
Three Bonhams Thoroughbred Stakes, Silvestre de Sousa, on second Tawhid,
interfered at the furlong-marker with fourth Glory Awaits who in turn
interfered with third Snowboarder. The stewards decided that the interference
did not improve Tawhid's placing but found the jockey guilty of careless riding
as his mount hung right. He got a further ban - for four days, Sunday,
Monday and Tuesday, August 18, 19 & 20, and Saturday, August 24.
