Hampshire-based trainer
Marcus Tregoning may have uncovered a high-quality juvenile in the form of Snow
Trouble, who landed the banker's money in the NatWest Ahead For Business EBF
Maiden.
The son of stallion Tapit
was bought by the trainer in May at Tattersalls' breeze-up sale in Newmarket
for 100,000gns, but he took a good step towards justifying that price when
beating 16 rivals in today's race. In second, beaten a neck, was Master The
World, while third place went to Tahadee.
Tregoning, who used the
services of top jockey Johnny Murtagh on Snow Trouble, said: "It's great
to come here and get a winner because it's my favourite meeting. It's been a
very tough week, although we had a nice third with Boom And Bust [in the Bet365
Lennox Stakes] which was really thrilling.
"It's good to have a
two-year-old winner here and each year I try to find one, but you need a lot of
two-year-olds, and this year we don't have that many. This is our first
juvenile winner of the season - we haven't quite got the ammunition, but we'll
get it again.
"I'm very pleased for
the team back home, for my son George who rides him in much of his work, and
also to owner Guy Brook who is a big supporter of my yard and has some six
horses in training with us.
"We were determined to
get this horse at the sales because Norman Williamson [who sold him]
recommended him and said he had ridden him in a lot of his work. As a former
top-class jump jockey Norman has lovely hands and he told me how to ride him -
that persuaded me to buy him.
"He's entered in the
Dewhurst Stakes and Royal Lodge and I should think it will be the latter.
Johnny is very keen we go for that race."

As a spectator sport, Racehorse makes baseball seem fast. At racetracks, a race is run about every 30 minutes, and when it’s run, most people have to watch a big screen or TV monitor to actually see the action.
